Job Overview
The Oaks at Sweeten Creek is a 100-bed Skilled Nursing Facility with an average daily census of 84. We are located in a beautiful and safe neighborhood just 8 miles South of Asheville and 12 miles North of Hendersonville. The Administrator and DON have more than twenty years of experience, each with additional leadership consisting of an ADON, 2 Unit Managers and an HR Coordinator. We are stable team with low turnover.

Certified Mediation Aide - NC
As a Certified Medication Aide, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. You are responsible for preparing and administering medications to residents following established procedures.
Job Function
Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms.
Clarifies any order or treatment regimen believed to be inaccurate, ineffective or contraindicated by consulting with supervisory nurse. Notifies supervisor when making the decision not to administer.
Takes and records vital signs upon administration of medications when required.
Orders and re-orders medications in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Maintains neat, clean, and orderly medication room and cart. Takes appropriate precautions to make sure residents / patient do not have access to medications other than those prescribed.
Completes required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
Ensure effective interactions with patients and families.
Ensure compliance with resident’s rights policies.
Attend and participate in care team conferences or meetings as directed by supervisor.
Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
Act in compliance with Consulate, regulatory and professional standards and guidelines.
Adhere to facility policies and procedures and participate in facility quality improvement and safety programs.
Participate in in-service education sessions.
Demonstrate care and compassion in every interaction.
Education and Experience
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, or experience as required by state regulations.
Completed 24 hour training program provided by NC Board of Nursing
Passed a State-administered competency exam
Completed Clinical skills validation (Medication Administration)- must be completed by a registered nurse
