Job Overview

Purpose of Your Job Position

The primary purpose of the Director of Accounting Services is to provide support to the VP of Accounting Services with project and staff management for the Payroll and Accounts Payable Department. The Director of Accounting Services will be responsible for maintaining records and providing general assistance through first-line delivery of information, customer service and administrative support to incoming questions.

Job Functions

As Director of Accounting Services, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. This position is responsible for overseeing project management and assigned personnel in this Payroll and Accounts Payable department which include management and staff positions. Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist VP of Accounting Services with reporting requests, both standard and ad hoc.

  2. Supervises and leads a staff and or managers as assigned by VP of Accounting Services.

  3. Provides analytical support for management related to expense and cash management initiatives.

  4. Analyzes the Payroll and Accounts Payable process work flows and implements process improvement initiatives as needed.

  5. Provides project management for all conversions, updates, and initiatives.

  6. Monitors and assists with the enforcement of company policies and guidelines as they relate to payroll and accounts payable processing

  7. Supports Accounting department with all inquiries related to month-end close or other research projects

  8. Assist with the coordination of annual audits.

  9. Coordinates the WC premium audits and data inquiries related to the annual policy renewals

  10. Perform other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting or payroll related experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
