Job Overview

Purpose of Your Job Position

As a Consulate Health Care employee, you are entrusted with the responsibility of carrying out your daily tasks and assigned duties while demonstrating Consulate’s Core Values of Compassion, Honesty, Integrity, Respect and Passion. The primary purpose of your job position is billing Medicaid, Medicare, HMO and Co-insurance. Perform monthly billing at the beginning of the month for previous month and review agings. As Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Responsible for maintaining low A/R and bad debt for assigned payors. This position focuses on the billing of all Medicaid payor classes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Generate timely billing of assigned payors.

  2. Review agings weekly, follow up on all outstanding balances every 14 days.

  3. Review unbilled reports on daily basis.

  4. Adjust bill as needed.

  5. Post daily cash receipts on Medicaid cash logs.

  6. Bill all co-insurance as Medicare A & B; Remits are received.

  7. Key Medicare Bad Debt Adjustments.

  8. Record all Medicare Bad Debt on logs.

  9. Post Remits as needed.

  10. Call Medicaid as needed to resolve issues on claims.

  11. Post write offs and contractuals as needed.

  12. Establish and maintain communication with BOM’s and RDBOS.

  13. Attend meeting and in-service training sessions, as appropriate.

  14. Must be computer literate, excellent working knowledge of all pertinent software.

  15. Adhere to all established goals and procedures.

  16. Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and government agencies.

Education

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high diploma or its equivalent, two-year degree preferred

Experience

-Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of third party billing experience.

-Must have experience with Excel and Microsoft Office programs.

-Must possess knowledge of and demonstrated skill with the pertinent billing software.

Specific Requirements

-Must possess the ability to prioritize duties and responsibilities.

-Must be knowledgeable of computer systems, system applications, and other office equipment.
