Purpose of Your Job Position

The primary purpose of the Non-Certified Hospitality Aide is to assist in the well-being, social and environmental needs of our residents. As a Consulate Health Care Hospitality Aide you are entrusted with the responsibility of caring for our residents, families, co-workers, visitors, and all others; as well as demonstrating in all interactions, Consulate Health Care’s five core values of Compassion, Honesty, Integrity, Respect, and Passion. You are entrusted to provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.

Job Functions

As a Non Certified Hospitality Aide, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. You are responsible for providing support to the Director of Therapeutic Recreational Services by carrying out the task and duties assigned daily. No supervisory function. Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Encourage residents to participate in recreational social activities so that all residents are involved in activities by engaging in and organizing games, crafts, religious services, parties, etc.

  2. Promptly answer resident calls lights. Provide appropriate responses and requests.

  3. Distributes and picks up meal trays.

  4. Provides assistance to residents as needed, self-care, grooming to include nail and hair care.

  5. Bed making and changing of bed linens.

  6. Act in compliance with all corporate, state, federal, and other regulatory standards.

  7. Accompany residents, as needed, to activities, dining and therapy.

  8. Attend meetings and in-service sessions, as directed.

  9. 1:1 – Create diversional activities for behavior residents.

  10. Labeling/bagging personal belonging of residents.

  11. Assist the Director of Therapeutic Recreational Services in Activities for Residents.

  16. May be trained and assigned to perform the Customer Care Liaison duties as needed.

  17. Assist as smoke aide.

  18. Pass and be responsible for the hydration and snack cart.

  19. Perform other duties, as assigned.


Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.


Some experience preferred but not required in a health care environment.

Specific Requirements

  • Must possess current unencumbered valid state drivers license.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

  • Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.

  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.

  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.

  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must possess the ability to understand and follow the directions of the Director of Therapeutic Recreational Services.
